On July 11, 2004, the Weehawken Historical Commission and the Township of Weehawken sponsored a symposium to mark the 200th anniversary of the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, which took place on July 11, 1804 in Weehawken. This event was televised live on C-SPAN Book TV.
