Peters/Arnoldi House in the 1930s - Pre Library

Item # 88279

The building that today houses the Weehawken Free Public Library was once the Peter Mansion, owned by a leading brewer in North Hudson. Charles H. Arnoldi, a Union City pharmacist, purchased the house in 1934, where he, his wife Laura, and his family lived until the house was purchased by the Port Authority as part of the construction of the Lincoln Tunnel.

These images were provided by Jeffrey Arnoldi of Houston, TX.

Note: Images 278 and 28 in this set show a different house, most probably located on Hamilton Avenue (as evidenced by the lovely NYC view).
