Black and white photograph from one of Mayor Meister's scrapbooks, showing the Mayor at left of the bond wagon, encouraging Weehawken citizens to purchase bonds to support the war effort.
Volunteers went door-to-door, pleading for sales and rewarding purchasers with stickers to display on their window or door. In this case the Weehawken Mayor led the drive.
The Fifth War Loan Drive ran from June 12 - July 8, 1944.
